About Us
Neil van Noort is the owner and Director of Van Noort Architects. He completed his Bachelor of Architects at the University of Natal in 1988 and directly after graduating, Neil found employment as a design architect. His immediate involvement in small to medium scale projects include extensions to the Holiday Inn in Sandton, and Sugar Beach Hotel in Mauritius.
As an architect in the corporate space, Neil was involved in architectural design, planning and project management services for various refurbishing and upgrade projects at the OR Tambo International Airport between 1995 and 2008. Further corporate roles as an associate, Lead Project Architect, as well as Senior Project Manager, exposed Neil to all aspects of projects from concept design to implementation, both in South Africa and other parts of Africa.
Our Passion
Neil has always had a passion for architecture, and in early 2017 when an opportunity presented itself as the next logical step following an extensive career in the corporate space, Van Noort Architects was established. The business is built on the foundations of vast experience in all aspects of architecture, and projects- and facilities management and now provides well considered and harmonious architectural solutions that recognise and enhance the environment in which they reside.

We are a professional architect practice who designs for the Commercial, Industrial, and Residential sectors countrywide, and recognise local authority and town planning requirements as well as the National Building Regulations, safety standards, energy efficiency, sustainability, and good building practice.
Our clients’ ideas are manifested into workable master plans that are drafted to answer all criteria to enhance their corporate identity and branding. We work closely with urban planners, engineers and local authorities and can advise on town planning requirements and site development plans. We make use of industry-standard tools and vetted computer-aided draughting services.
For alterations and additions to existing structures, Van Noort Architects explores the current use and style of the building before drawing up construction plans. These plans address both the owner's desires and the structural requirements. In our designs, we take care not to create awkward and useless spaces; we can alter these spaces in existing buildings and in any environment to ensure practicality and aesthetical features.
Project Management
Van Noort Architects provide a holistic project management service to address all aspects of a building project from inception to close-out including all administration and procurement processes. We strongly focus on time, cost and quality to deliver small to large-scale projects that meet client expectations every time.
IN ASSOCIATION WITH
In order to provide expert interior design services and advice without compromising our main business focus, we joined forces with Eddy Paulo Design in 2018. As a team we project the needs and design requirements of our clients into buildings that meet and respond to their comfort, quality and commercial expectations.
